Anna’s Afternoon 

I opened my eyes and the world rushed in
To the tune of a summer’s sun
I looked out side as the clouds rolled by
And this is the song I sung:

	I got no place to be,
 	No friends to see;
            No reason to go or stay
	Killin’ time oh today

I wandered in to the kitchen 
After sippin’ from the toilet bowl
Found a chunk of fish staring from my dish
And I ain’t picky if it’s hot or cold

Looked and saw another paw 
Much smaller than my own
Hangin’ there off the rocking chair

I pace the floor and bark at the door 
Till Momma lets me out,
And she speaks to me so sweetly
But I can never tell what she’s talkin’ about

Pass the ducks flappin’ in the muck 
And the horses gathered ‘round the trough
Then I turn my eyes from the summer skies
For the shadows of the hayloft
